The Experience

Adventure

Your farm tour is an action-packed day of fun and new experiences. Your tour will be a co-creation. Get to work early and start digging and chopping or enjoy a guided walk through the farm.  Learn about growing food and medicine. Options range from planting and harvesting, to "stalk-to-stove" tortilla making, and, of course, how to use the pilon carved out of a tree from the farm, made by the last elder in the pueblo that remembers how to carve a pilon. Saving the traditions of Costa Rica, we raise the value of what the elders have to teach us and pass on the knowledge. We'll form a customized experience with different options depending on the season and what your interests are. Last but now least we will end the day cooling off in our precious Peace Falls, a double waterfall and swimming hole.

Booking

Reserve your spot today by contacting us via email. $75 per person with a 3-person minimum. Please book a minimum of a week in advance. 10% discount when booking a month or more in advance.

Payment in full is due at the time of reservation. 50% refund if you cancel more than three days prior to the event. Reservation is non-refundable less than three days (72 hours) prior to the event.

Arrival/Departure

Upon reservation, we will send you detailed instructions on how to drive to Finca Secreta and where to park. For planning purposes, you can find our general location on our About Us page. Driving to Finca Secreta requires a car with four-wheel drive. The experience is a full-day experience. 

Options for transportation include:

1. Taxi (we can provide recommendations)

2. Personal four-wheel drive car

Plan to arrive at 8:00 AM and plan for a departure around 2:00 PM.

Recommended Equipment: 

Please bring: 

• water bottle (fill up here with our spring water)

• hiking shoes,

• sun protection (e.g., hat, sunscreen)

Rules and Disclaimers

• Pack out what you brought in. 

• Drive slowly inside the farm and little village of San Salvador. The locals appreciate this as many visitors drive very fast and this is hard on the locals living near the road.

• The farm is accessible only with four-wheel drive cars.
